Refinancing your home is where having an established
relationship with a mortgage banker can really come in handy. Do
you want a friend in the business, or would you rather rely on “operator
#28?”
Did you know that during the refinance crazes of ’93, ’98, & 2001-2003,
I actually had people tell me that they had called their bank or
credit union only to be told that they couldn’t make an appointment
to see them for 3 weeks!!!!!!!
That’s amazing.
Most refinances can be done over the phone in 30 minutes & follow
up documentation can be faxed or emailed. I have actually refinanced
people in full in less time than it would have taken them even
to get an appointment at some places.
I guess it just comes down to “how much you want the business” and
good old-fashioned Customer Service.
